In my zone

Been a while feels good to be back. Ok that’s a bit dramatic but yeah, I love writing and I love this blog so I’m happy you’re reading my words again.

As I write this, I’m in the Red Bull Studios in Cape Town with AKA. We’re camped out here for three days and it’s quite a mind fuck for me. I mean, being treated at a five star hotel and utilizing world-class facilities courtesy of one of largest brands in the world shows growth on our part.
Truth is, it’s easy to get gassed, believe in our own hype and become complacent.

I’m blessed to have a greedy camp. Greed in the sense that we are never satisfied, we always want more. We honestly appreciate this, but we’re aware that we’re no longer the underdogs and whatever we put out now is being analyzed on some CSI tip.

For us, we view this as an opportunity to learn, expand our outlook and also get out of our comfort zone. Working with new producers, engineers and influencesis cool. I’m really enjoying it. I’m also proud, I’m listening to the first creation for the next album and I’m proud that the last album got us hereŠ so the new album needs to have us recording somewhere in the Bahamas like we Wu-TangŠ love got us here and love will get us there.

I took it upon myself to stay fresh too. The love that this blog has received ha actually made me step it up. I still don’t consider myself a blogger, I’m not too sure what that means I respect craft and this isn’t yet my craft, but I will try my hardest to become better at it and add value you in my own unique way.
